Grading Policy
The Special Class Program’s grading policy is designed to evaluate your child’s progress and understanding in a comprehensive manner. The following components are used to assess their performance:
- Summative Assessments (40%)
These are the big checkpoints where your child demonstrates their learning at the end of each topic or unit. This category includes major tests, projects, writing assignments, and presentations that sum up their understanding of the material.
- Formative Assessments (30%)
These are the mini-checks that happen during the learning process. They help the teacher gauge how well your child is grasping the material and provide opportunities for practice and feedback. This category includes quizzes, class activities, and homework assignments.
- Practice (20%)
Practice focuses on the daily work your child does to develop and strengthen their skills. This includes regular reading, writing exercises, math drills, and other consistent tasks that build their abilities through repetition and engagement.
- Respect, Effort, and Attitude (10%)
These qualities are essential for creating a positive and supportive classroom environment. This grade reflects how well your child demonstrates respect for others, manages classroom resources, persists in the face of challenges, and seeks help or takes breaks when necessary.
